What we do

ILivedHere is a tenant review platform built to give renters the information they need before signing a tenancy agreement. We believe that finding a home should come with honest, transparent information about the property and the people managing it.

Anyone who has rented a property in the UK can search for their old address and leave a review — rating their letting agency on maintenance, communication, deposit handling and more. Future tenants can then search that address and read those reviews before committing to a lease.

Why we built it

The UK rental market is heavily weighted in favour of landlords and letting agencies. Tenants often discover problems — slow repairs, unfair deposit deductions, poor communication — only after they've already moved in and signed a contract.

ILivedHere exists to rebalance that. By sharing experiences honestly and openly, tenants can make better informed decisions, and agencies that treat tenants well get the recognition they deserve.

How reviews work

Reviews on ILivedHere are written by real tenants about properties they have genuinely lived in. You don't need to create an account to leave a review — we keep the barrier to participation as low as possible.

Every review is moderated before it goes live. We check that reviews are based on genuine personal experience, are factual rather than defamatory, and do not name individual employees. Letting agencies have the right to respond to reviews publicly.

Based in Scotland

ILivedHere is a Scottish platform, built in Edinburgh. We cover letting agencies and properties across the whole of the UK, with a particular focus on the Scottish rental market where tenant protections and letting law differ from the rest of the UK.
